Special Tax Regimes for Expats

  • Working Holiday Maker (WHM) tax: flat 15% on first $45,000, then standard rates. Applies to subclass 417/462 visa holders.

Country-Specific Notes

  • Medicare levy: 2% of taxable income (included in social rate). No cap — applies to all taxable income.
