Effective 4 October 2026.
ExpatLogic is free to read. To keep it that way, some articles contain affiliate links. This page explains what that means for you.
What an affiliate link is
If you click certain links to a company’s website and then sign up or buy something, that company may pay ExpatLogic a commission. You pay the same price as you would without the link. We work with companies through affiliate networks such as CJ (Commission Junction).
How to spot them
Any article that contains an affiliate link says so at the top, before the article starts. The links themselves are marked as sponsored for search engines.
How this affects what we write
- Companies cannot pay to appear in an article, review a draft, or change what we say about them.
- We pick the topic and check the facts first. A product is linked only when it is relevant to the problem the article covers.
- If a commission is available for one option and not for another, we still describe both where both are relevant.
- We do not always know which links earn a commission, because programs change. When in doubt, assume a link to a company’s product may be an affiliate link.
Not personal advice
Our articles are general information about US immigration, tax and money rules. They are not legal, tax or financial advice for your situation. Check the official source we link to, and talk to a licensed professional before you make a decision that matters.
